In an effort to provide the highest level of emergency care in our community, the Trauma Center was enhanced through the expansion of the Inova Virts Miller Family Emergency and Trauma Center – a nationally-acclaimed, full service emergency room for adults at Inova Loudoun Hospital. Originally designated as a Level III trauma center in 2016, we were officially verified by the state of Virginia in spring 2018. Inova Loudoun Hospital is Loudoun County’s first and only designated trauma center. These categories may vary from state to state. The state or local municipality identifies unique criteria in which to categorize Trauma Centers. Trauma Center designation is a process outlined and developed at a state or local level. Inova Trauma Center – Loudoun: Loudoun County’s Only Trauma Center Being at a Level 1 trauma center provides the highest level of surgical care for trauma patients. Our trauma surgeons and trauma team are available around the clock, 365-days a year to treat life-threatening injuries. We treat traumatic injuries that result from car crashes, falls, industrial incidents, recreational injuries, and acts of violence. Additionally, we have been verified by the American College of Surgeons (ACS) since 1993. The designation has continually been given to Inova Fairfax Hospital by the Commonwealth of Virginia since 1983. Inova Fairfax Hospital is Northern Virginia’s only Level 1 trauma center.
